Two vintage paraffiin blowlamps / blowtorches
To be clear, your single purchase gets you both of these brass paraffin/kerosene blowlamps. The slightly larger blowlamp is branded ‘Burmos’, and (according to writing on the tank) has a 1 pint fuel capacity. The other blowlamp is by ‘Monitor’, and the tank-writing says it is a ‘No’ 26’. Both lamps worked splendidly some eight years’ ago (e.g. I used them for paint removal). Since then they haven’t been used, until I tried them a few weeks’ ago. Evidently time’s passage hasn’t been favourable, for they now work very poorly (I had to keep pumping them to keep their respective flames going). They presumably need such as washer-replacement and/or attention to the non-return aspect of valve on each pump. I hope anyway they’ll be bought by an enthusiast who’ll quickly have them blowing flames with restored potency.
Yes, they look a bit sorry for themselves. But, of course, they'll shine-up handsomely. I've left them 'as they are' for a new owner to have the pleasure of bringing-out their shine.
The postage price is for signed-for Hermes - the cheapest I could find.
